New initiative to help restore El Paso's missions

The Historic Missions Restoration Fund Committee announced a new initiative to support the restoration and preservation of El Paso's three historic Missions: Ysleta, Socorro and San Elizario.

The Fiesta for the Missions Benefit concert is set for May. The event will feature national and local entertainment including Little Joe y La Familia, Malo, Dirty River Band, Liberty Band, Mariachis, Folklorico dancers, Matachines, food, drinks, and more.

Proceeds from the three Fiestas will benefit the new Historic Missions Restoration Fund.

It is the first in a series of three Fiestas to be held over three consecutive years.

If you would like to attend, it will be Saturday and Sunday, May 18 & 19 from 5:00 pm - 12:00 am at the Ysleta Mission.

May 17 & 18, 2014 at the Socorro Mission and May 16 & 17, 2015 at the San Elizario Mission.
