New early college high school planned for LCPS
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — A new early college high school is in the works for Las Cruces Public Schools.
The "Early College High School 2" as it's being called during the planning stages will help prepare students who would like to pursue a career in the medical or healthcare fields.
LCPS received a $500,000 grant from the Kellog Foundation to help with the planning.
Studies show there are more than 13,000 jobs in the medical and healthcare fields in Dona Ana County with more expected in the near future.
The district hopes to open their second early college high school by August of 2014.
