New Details Emerge in Murder-Suicide Involving Death of Pregnant Woman

News Channel 9 has learned more about a Socorro woman who was murdered earlier this week.

On Monday, state police in Chihuahua found 20-year-old Crystal Nevarez's body wrapped in a blanket at a dump in South Juarez.

According to an autopsy, she died of suffocation and was two months pregnant with twins.

Nevarez was a nail tech at Barragan's Hair Salon on the east side and had married Johnny Ray on Valentine's day of last year.

He shot and killed himself shortly after he allegedly confessed to a friend that he murdered Nevarez. Police said the couple got into an argument last Friday but Nevarez did not have a criminal record and the couple had no history of violence.

An aquaintance tells News Channel 9 that Nevarez had adopted johny's two kids from a previous relationship and that he had been discharged from the military.
