New Commissary Opens at Fort Bliss

FORT BLISS - Military families got quite the treat today at Fort Bliss. Thousands of people rushed to the base's new state-of-the-art commissary.
The new store is more than 100,000 square feet, and is fully equipped with an international deli, fresh seafood and sushi take-out.
Fort Bliss Commanding General, Dana Pittard, said the new commissary is one of the many changes coming to the post.
"We're just very proud of it. It's a world-class facility for a world-class community, and this is just the beginning for Fort Bliss and El Paso."
The money for the new project came from base realignment and closure funds.
