New bishop to take reins next week
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The Catholic Diocese of El Paso's newest leader is set to take over next week.
Pope Francis named Bishop Mark Seitz of Dallas as the new leader of the diocese back in May.
He'll be the diocese's sixth bishop.
He was born in Milwaukee, W.I., but has lived in the Diocese of Dallas since 1972, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1980.
Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller of San Antonio will be performing the installment.
The ceremony is open to the public Tues., July 7 at 7 p.m. at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center downtown.
The mass will also be live-streamed at their website, www.elpasodiocese.org.
