SOCORRO - Neighbors are concerned over two pit bulls that are guarding a property in Socorro and appear malnourished.

One neighbor tells us she has never seen the owners feed the outdoor dogs or give them water in the several months she can remember them being there. She had been bringing food so they could eat, but the owner of the property put up a sign asking neighbors not to feed the dogs anymore, so she says she stopped. Now her and several other neighbors are concerned that the dogs are getting out and attacking other pets in the neighborhood.

We talked to the owner of the property, and he says he is feeding them everyday and that one of the dogs looks frail because she is sick. But neighbors say because they have never seen the property owner come by, and also because of the behavior of the animals, they don't think the dogs are being fed properly.

The reason they didn't find the pups is because the dogs ate them. And the femaile doesn't look very well. She's probably depressed because she or the male ate the pups. Also, why aren't the police looking into this. This spells out Stash House. Im glad the neighbor reported them. All neighbors should keep a look out in their area.

Dear Azure,
haven't you heard of multi-tasking? The good people of Socorro can walk and chew gum at the same time so they can tackle many issues concerning their city. I don't live there but give them a break and give those poor dogs a chance, show some compassion.

Mr Mac you are not reading the post correctly. I rescue dogs, so if you look closely, you will see that i am on the dogs' side.

I applaud the neighbor. Animals can't speak for themselves when they are being starved so someone has to do it for them. If the owner is truly starving the dogs, they need to be rescued from her and she needs to be fined.

Renea:

There is not need to be mean. If you don't value life, that is your choice. In the long run, you have to live with yourself and look in the mirror and see who you are. Good Luck!

The people of socorro need to worry about their own government, not the neighbors dogs. I'm all for animal rights but really if she was so worried about them attacking why was she getting close enough to feed them.
