EL PASO - These parks may not look too bad from a distance, but up close you see grounds covered with confetti, cracked eggs and cigarettes.
Manuel Ramirez says he's disgusted with all of the trash leftover at Mission Hills where he and his son visit every day.
"We need to be more responsible, it was a nice day yesterday and we all had a lot of fun with our families, but we need to keep our space clean," Ramirez said.
No one from the city could speak to us on-camera today, but a spokesperson for parks and recreation says the city should have these parks cleaned by today.
But, that's not what Ramirez sees.
"It's Monday, just look around. It's still here," Ramirez said.
It's a big job, but this father and son make it a tradition to help out their community.
"As you can see my son, he was the first one this morning to come to the park and he says dad let's pick up some of the trash," Ramirez said.
The city says the best way to keep parks clean after a big holiday is to make sure you clean after yourself, but this pair says they'll continue to do more than their share.
"Because it's our park, so we keep it as clean as we can," Ramirez said.
