NC9's Adrienne Alvarez recognized statewide for EPISD series

EL PASO — NewsChannel 9's lead anchor Adrienne Alvarez was honored by the Texas State Teachers Association for her excellence in journalism covering the El Paso Independent School district corruption scandal. She was selected to receive the School Bell Award for Outstanding Television Series from a pool of journalists across Texas.
Her special assignment consisted of a three-part series investigating the EPISD corruption scandal that plagued the district's credibility and the students' quality of education.

Alvarez joined the station as a reporter in 2007, accelerating to prime time anchor to join Keagan Harsha in July of 2012.
