NC9 Investigates Robosigning Tonight at 10
Homeowners Losing Properties Through Illegal Process
EL PASO - Owning a home is part of the American dream; but for some people, that dream is turning into a nightmare.
In February, we introduced you to Bea Huml. She never stopped making her mortgage payments, but is facing foreclosure. Huml's attorney, Richard Roman, said an illegal process known as robosigning, is what caused this mess.
Huml is one of many homeowners in El Paso, and the rest of the country, that may lose her home through no fault of her own.
Huml told Newschannel 9 she is not giving up her home easily.
"You have to go and fight, and go against the system...nobody wants to go against the system because they sent us this letter that said you cannot go against us because it's going to cost you a lot of money. Bring it on! [The banks] already took my home. You've already taken everything I have, so I'm not going to lose anything," said Huml.
Tonight on Newschannel 9 at 10 p.m., you'll hear Huml's story, and we'll tell you what's being done in El Paso County to help troubled homeowners.
