The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department has obtained a nationwide extradition warrant for a man wanted on several felony charges, including first-degree kidnapping.

Investigators say Jose R. Martinez, 39, is accused of assaulting an Anthony woman and holding her against her will for two days. A grand jury recently indicted him on first-degree kidnapping, aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery against a household member causing great bodily harm, and two counts of aggravated assault against a household member with a deadly weapon.

Martinez is five-foot, four inches tall, weighs 138 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Investigators say Martinez is homeless and without a vehicle and could still be in the Anthony area.

Anyone with information on Martinez’s whereabouts is asked to call the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department at (575) 525-8806.
