EL PASO--- An early morning car race may have led to five cars getting demolished Sunday, witnesses told NewsChannel 9.
The crash happened before one a.m. at the intersection of Dallas St. and Arizona Ave, said Rosalie Torres, whose own car was crushed in.
Torres went outside to see what happened after she heard a loud boom, she said.
That's when she saw her car and two other parked cars mangled, she said.
One man was in the middle of the street who, according to Torres, appeared to be injured and asking for help.
Police on the scene told Torres two cars had been racing, a fact that didn't surprise her.
"They go down the street like 60 miles per hour everyday. this is a very dangerous street coming up here and it's happened a couple of times, so this street, arizona and dallas is a bad street, especially over that mountain."
El Paso Police could not tell NewsChannel 9 if any of the drivers were charged or how serious the injuries were.
