A mother of a 6-year-old girl who was hit by an SUV wants justice. Six-year-old Genesis Galicia was in the hospital with serious injuries on Tuesday.

"Words can't explain how I feel right now. I feel like a part of my world been broken and crushed," said mother Viviana Ruiz.

The pain of a mother cannot be explained.

"I feel sadness. At the same time, I feel proud of my daughter because she's a strong little girl," said Ruiz.

An SUV hit her 6-year-daughter Genesis on Sea Breeze and East Glen Monday night. Police said the driver got out of her SUV, picked up Genesis, put her on the sidewalk and drove off.

"She's not a piece of trash. Not even an animal does that," said Ruiz.

Little Genesis suffered a broken ankle, fractured collared bone and a bruised spleen. Her mother said she also has cuts all over her legs. Doctors said there's a 50 percent chance Genesis' foot will grow crooked or she will walk with a limp for the rest of her life.

"I'm very angry but I'm focusing my anger on the joy that I have that my daughter is OK," said

Ruiz said Genesis is always smiling and joking around. She loves karate and just got her gold belt last month.

Ruiz said she won't stop until her daughter gets justice.

"She did wrong and she's going to pay the price, one way or another. I'm not going to give up until she's found," said Ruiz. "The day will come where she will pay the price for what she did to my daughter."

Ruiz said they don't know when Genesis will come home.

Witnesses describe the vehicle as a dark-colored SUV with tinted windows. The driver is a woman with short hair wearing a Dallas Cowboys tank top and a baseball cap.

Police are urging this woman to turn herself in or if you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 566-TIPS.
