EL PASO - The price of gas is 45 cents higher than it was a month ago, according to the senior petroleum analyst at Elpasogasprices.com.

A local car dealership says it's noticing a spike in customers trading their gas guzzlers for something that wastes less gas, like a hybrid.

Hybrid cars are reported to get up to 15 more miles per gallon than a purely gasoline powered car.

Trust me, Hybrids are not what they are supposed to be. I have one, Mercury Mariner, and I wished I never had it. It's just like driving a non-hybrid. When driving up Transmountain or just a small hill, it struggles to get up it, plus it drinks more gas.

So this is how GM (government motors) will force people to buy a less than perfect vehicle that could not possibly have any effect on the oil shortage or importation of oil from overseas. Pathetic.
