More Details Revealed About Trooper Death Investigation
EL PASO - We're learning more about the incident that led to the death of Texas state trooper Javier Arana.
Arana was killed in the line of duty on March 24th, after a pickup truck slammed into his vehicle at Joe Battle and Bob Hope. Arana's vehicle caught fire; he died at the scene. Two men were inside the pickup truck; both survived.
Department of Public Safety (DPS) records obtained by Newschannel 9 show Edgardo Flores, 18, ran a stop sign and crashed into Arana.
The documents also reveal that an officer at the scene believes Flores was under the influence of drugs during the crash, but Flores was not given a drug test.
