Mobile food vendors offer healthier food choices
Part of Eat Well El Paso Initiative
Don't eat from mobile food vendors because of fatty foods?
The El Paso Parks and Recreation Department of Health is now helping residents choose healthier meals on the go with their first-ever mobile food vendors with a menu of healthier food options that is endorsed by Eat Well El Paso. Thier showcasing will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 25th in the parking lot of Acosta Sports Center on 4321 Delta street.
Eat Well El Paso is an initiative of the Department of Public Health (DPH) in working with local restaurants to offer adults and children healthy meals.
Area residents that purchase food from mobile vendors at city sports fields in the futures will have healthier options.
Sue Beatty, Health Education Manager with DPH says, "We applaud the Parks and Recreation Deparment for their forward thinking and praise the food truck vendors for making an effort to support healthy eating. It is definitely a step in the right direction."
