A local church is asking for more help meeting the needs of hungry citizens, after a donation today of some 20-thousand dollars. University Presbyterian made those donations directly to five organizations at morning services today.

Pastor John Nelsen says its good to give, but the need never stops.
"It feels very good. It's good news bad news.  The bad news there's still so much hunger out there but our intent is not just to feel good about ourselves, it's actually to try and end hunger. And that's what these five organizations are all about. They're doing very very good work on a multitude of levels."

If you're interested in donating canned food to the hungry in El Paso and Juarez, you can drop off at all Big 8 food stores, and all Walmart Super Centers and neighborhood markets.
