EL PASO--- It's Edna Salas' first time speaking to the media about her father, Miguel Olivas, and his disappearance.
She told us why she waited until now to talk.
"We didn't think it would have to come to this. We didn't think it would have to come to this, we thought we would find him," Salas said.
That's because this isn't the first time the 73-year-old had disappeared.
But, Salas said, he's never been gone for too long.
"One of the last times that he was lost they were able to contact his wife with that medical alert bracelet," she said.
But neither that bracelet, the help of police, the El Paso Alzheimer's Association, or the family's own efforts have helped.
So, Salas agreed to speak to NewsChannel 9 in hopes the public may recognize him.
"At this point, my father lost his ability to complete a sentence. But he spoke out in phrases, so I'm sure he was probably, he's probably just going to answer with just a word or two," she said.
Olivas is described as 5'5" tall, now weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen near the Fox Plaza on Alameda.
While cadaver dogs will be sent out Thursday morning near his home, Salas still keeps her faith her father will be found safely.
"What keeps us going is, we love our dad. And, you don't rest, because you know that he's out there," she said.
Out there, waiting to be found.
