UPDATE:  12:41 p.m.   Robert Fritz and his son Austin are now being transported to the Gila Regional Hospital.  Still no word on their conditions.

GILA CLIFF DWELLINGS, NM - A missing El Paso man and his son have been found alive after taking a hiking trip to the Gila Cliff Dwellings last week.

Robert Fritz, 55, and his 15-year-old son Austin were supposed to return Friday or Saturday but instead, disappeared in the Gila Wilderness.

New Mexico State Police confirm that a helicopter found the pair on Little Creek Trail.

Efforts are now underway to transport them to the incident base at Gila Cliff Dwelling visitors center.

No word on the conditions of the two hikers.
