MEXICO - President Felipe Calderon says the rivalry within U.S. intelligence agencies is hindering the war on drugs in his country.

In an interview with Mexico's "El Universal," Calderon rejected accusations from U.S. leaders that Mexican authorities were not working together to tackle the cartels.

Calderon said it was the U.S. that was not working together.

He accused the DEA, CIA and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement of being rivals and always passing the buck.

Calderon also accused the U.S. of failing to stem the tide of weapons going across the border to Mexico.

Lets get this straight, we are pouring millions into Mexico(Merida Initiative, etc) to help them with THEIR problem. Millions are siphioned off to corrupt politicians(including Calderon and cronies), our valiant US agents (without firearms) helping them are shot and killed, and this JERK has the balls to blame us for their problem. Its time for our boneheaded leaders to look at JERK Calderons remarks and put his feet to the fire. You want our help, we do it on our terms.

why we just hope that every drug addict in America die of an overdose at the first try and ALL at the same time,so they can send those drug lords out of bussines and NORMAL people can live in peace, and if unfortunely any drug addict loooosssser survive, better start to blame somebody else for their own personal descisions. If this ever happen, is going to be interesting how many people in this contry is still alive... (unfortunely)

Marijuana is proven NOT to cause cancer, heart disease, brain damage, or liver disease, and its addictive potential is about on par with coffee. The DEA is 100% misinformed when it calls marijuana "extremely harmful"!

The marijuana prohibition empowers drug dealers and the cartels, and makes our children LESS safe! We parents have been patient long enough, we must speak up and demand that marijuana be legally sold to adults in gas stations and supermarkets just as beer and wine are today!

So long as the drugs are illegal IN MEXICO the violence will continue IN MEXICO. The cartels aren't fighting to sell the drugs here in the US, they are fighting for turf IN MEXICO! Once drugs are legal in Mexico you can take your drug addicted family to live over there dude!

If you support the Kool-Aid mass suicide cult of prohibition, and erroneously believe that you can win a war without logic and practical solutions, then prepare yourself for even more death, tortured corpses, corruption, terrorism, sickness, imprisonment, economic tribulation, unemployment and the complete loss of the rule of law.

"A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."
Abraham Lincoln

By the way Malcolm, unless you live in our border region you can see and uderstand what is happening here. New York is not the same as El Paso.

Are you Charlie Sheen? You must be. "death, tortured corpses, corruption, terrorism,...." ALL IN MEXICO, NOT IN USA!!

Because Drug cartels will always have an endless supply of ready cash for wages, bribery and equipment, no amount of tax money, police powers, weaponry, wishful thinking or pseudo-science will make our streets safe again. Only an end to prohibition can do that! How much longer are you willing to foolishly risk your own survival by continuing to ignore the obvious, historically confirmed solution?

You must definetely be Charlie Sheen! So, how does making the cartels legally operating corporations in the USA prevent them from becoming wealthy? and or killing people IN MEXICO?

"Good Job", you are clearly a prohibitionist, which makes you therefore co-responsible for the more than 34,000 Mexicans murdered due to YOUR Drug War during the last 4 years alone. That mega violence is heading this way fast. Re-legalizing/regulating any, if not all, of the prohibited/easily-accessible street drugs is the only practical way to cut off the enormous flow of cash that is feeding terrorism, gangsterism and "off the scale" government corruption.

Drugs aren't good for you Charlie. Besides, if we legalize drugs in the US that only means our government will get a piece of the pie by assesing taxes and that will make your drugs more expensive. Im sure you don't want that right?

The problem is IN mexico. Weapons are comming from America, that may be our fault. Drugs are comming from Mexico, that is definately Caledron's fault. Understand? Drugs from Mexico to America. Weapons from America to Mexico. He's blaming us for giving the drug cartels weapons, but why isn't he blaming the cartels for distributing drugs from his own back yard? Understand? Crack down needs to be implemented. House raids, farm raids, checkpoints. This is serious, not a candy sale!

Oh sure, and mexico's government is not corrupt? Caledron is probably corrupt himself.

what are we waiting for? we have gone in to countries to clean up their mess such as Somolia, Kuwait, Iraq and the list goes on and on. I am proudly serving in IRAQ with the military , I am getting tired of reading about " poor Mexico this, that"...lets be realistic! Mexico will not do a darn thing about the killings, rapes, drugs and cartels. the ICE agent killed, 11 yr old burned and shot along with his father should be the LAST STRAW! NATO/US Forces the time has come to go in and clean up!!!!

That is what this AH president wants, someone else to pay for cleaning up his mess. Better yet, he dosn't want it cleaned up because it might affect his cut. What he wants is more USA money handed over as "cooperation" to fight a war he created himself by supporting a new cartel. No more throwing away our taxpayer's money. Let's do this Mexico gives us their oil and we clean up their mess.

A great many of us are slowly but surely wising up to the fact that the best avenue towards realistically dealing with drug use and addiction is through proper regulation which is what we already do with alcohol & tobacco, clearly two of our most dangerous mood altering substances.

No doubt your craven prohibitionist mind will remain sorely upset with any type of solution that does not seem to lead to your absurd and unattainable utopia of a drug free society.

He'll probably blame us for all the pollution and gassy people in his country too. Foochie, that one was bad.

That is too funny! He wants the world to stop selling weapons so that Mexico can control the inflow of weapons? WTF? Instead of saying, we are going to strengthen our border security practices to detect and prevent the inflow of weapons and MONEY into our country. Customs and immigration forces do not exist in Mexico. You currently need absolutely nothing to cross the border into Mexico, haha! Why dont you start there Mr. President?

How quaint that you can laugh while thousands are dying due to your beloved policy of prohibition!

Based on the unalterable proviso that drug use, among all echelons of society, is essentially an unstoppable and ongoing human behavior which has been with us since the dawn of time, any serious reading on the subject of past attempts at any form of drug prohibition would point most normal thinking people in the direction of sensible regulation.

Goes to show the thanks we get from Mexico for helping them out.

Now Now Children, Can't we all just get along!
