U.S./MEXICO BORDER - The Mexican Army plans to increase its presence on the northern border to fight the drug war.
President Felipe Calderon made the announcement during a ceremony to honor the armed forces.
Calderon said he ordered four additional army battalions, but it is unclear how many soldiers would be deployed or exactly where they would be stationed.
Mexico's president has sent thousands of soldiers to Juarez before in a move widely criticized by the city as ineffective.
