Mexico Donates Hundreds of Books to El Paso Libraries
EL PASO — The El Paso Public Library is receiving a generous donation. The Consulate of Mexico Monday donated more than 1,600 books to the library. It happened this afternoon at the El Paso Public Library downtown. Consul General of Mexico Jacob Prado and the Director of the Library, Dionne Mack spoke about how the donation was made possible. It's aimed at strengthening friendship and improving collaboration between Mexico and the U.S. in the border region.
"We have been collecting all these books for many many years and I think it is a good idea to make them available to everybody at the public library. It is a way to strengthen our friendship between both countries," said Prado.
The books donated are about Mexican history, economics and culture.
