GUADALAJARA, MEXICO - Authorities have captured a top member of the Sinaloa Drug Cartel.
Police say Martin Beltran Coronel was taken into custody yesterday in Guadalajara, Mexico's second largest city.
His arrest could provide a wealth of intelligence for Mexico's war on drugs.
Beltran Coronel is nicknamed The Eagle and appeared with several accomplices.
All of them are accused of smuggling cocaine into Mexico and the U.S.
Coronel was allegedly a lieutenant for the Sinaloa Cartel run by "Shorty" Guzman, the most wanted man in Mexico.
