EL PASO - Local restaurants and chefs joined the swimmers at Wet N Wild Water World in Anthony today to show off their best dishes.

It was all for the KLAQ Mexican Food World Cook Off. Local chefs and restaurants competed for the best tacos, enchiladas, gorditas and best open dish. Five chefs and ten restaurants got busy chopping, frying and cooking up their specialties right away. And the competition was pretty stiff.

"What sets us apart is it's like your mom's cooking. It's homemade cooking done with love and care," said Pat Hernandez, who's family owns Mama's Mexican Restaurant on the Eastside.

There was another competition taking place at Wet N Wild today. The 5th annual Battle of the Rock N Roll Mariachis was also held. Tickets were $15.
