Tijuana, MX (NBC) — Some Mexican activists say the immigration reform bill approved by the U.S. Senate sends mixed messages. The bill would greatly increase security resources along the border with Mexico and offer millions of undocumented immigrants a path to legal status and eventual citizenship.
One activist with the "pro-migrant coalition" in Tijuana says the bill is contradictory by offering legislation to some people already living in the U.S. and at the same time militarizing the border.
Another migrant activist said bolstering border security would not impact the flow of migrants to the U.S.
