Meetings start for railroad construction
El Paso, TEXAS (KTSM) — Tomorrow is the first of several community meetings to discuss the impact of construction plans at nearly a dozen railroad crossings in central El Paso.
As we reported, Union Pacific and the City of El Paso are teaming up to modify eleven railroad crossings, in an attempt to reduce the noise level near the Medical Center of the Americas.
Four railroad crossings will be permanently closed at Estrella street, Cebada Street, Boone street, and Cadwallader Drive.
With less railroad crossings, the train will sound it's horn less often. Construction is scheduled to start in December.
Tomorrow's meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 inside the San Juan Senior Center.
