El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The city of El Paso's lawsuit against the Attorney General may soon come to a close. On Tuesday, the Mayor requested the City Attorney to bring this matter to a close quickly.
The lawsuit has already racked up a $7,000 bill and may increase if the matter is not closed soon. As we've reported. The city of El Paso has filed a suit against the Texas Attorney General challenging an open records request. That open records request was filed by local attorneys and media personnel in an attempt to get a hold of personal emails by various members of city council.
The city attorney has said she needs another few weeks to bring this matter to a close. The issue will be addressed in the beginning of August.
