Mattel Doesn't Know What's To Come of Seized Dolls

EL PASO - We told you earlier this week that Customs and Border Protection Officers confiscated thousands of fake Barbie dolls at an El Paso port of entry.

We asked Mattel what would happen to the counterfeit dolls and if they would donate them..

Turns out Mattel is not sure if the toys meet safety standards and are not sure what would happen to the dolls.

Officers believe importers paid more that $30,000 for the dolls, and that they can be sold for 8 to 10 times that amount.

Take the money and run!!!

I understand that the dolls were very similar to the mattel's "Barbie" but were not exactly. I would think that the people that invested their money would take all pre-cautions not to infringe with copyright laws. And still because of simularities they still get confiscated. And I would bet my bottom dollar that several female children belonging to some of the border agents, will be playing with some of these " FAKE " so called barbie dolls. Another great job from our people at the bridge.

HELLLLLLOOOOOO, IT'S Christmas, and you do not know what to do with the dolls, even if they are fake. There are needy children in EL PASO, and other cities in TEXAS.. And you do not know what to do with the dolls. What a bunch of mindless suits, insensitive to the needs of the fellow less fortunate humans in their world. What a bunch of hypocrits.
