Masked intruders break into West El Paso home
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — Masked intruders broke into an El Paso home Friday, threatening a couple inside with baseball bats. It all happened late this afternoon on Amposta Drive. Police say the intruder broke into the home by shattering a glass door and then hit a man inside with the bat. What the intruder didn't know was that the man's girlfriend was also home. When the man spotted her she took off for a back bedroom to call 911, and the man took off. Police say it's unclear what they were after.
"I have no idea. We're not rich people here. We have laptops, an Xbox. I mean I really don't know. "I was in shock. I was scared. I was shaking. I really, I don't know what was going through my mind," said Terri Schneider, the victim's girlfriend.
Terri says another man was also outside the home wearing a werewolf and carrying a bat. A helicopter helped search the neighborhood, but the men are still on the loose tonight. Terri's boyfriend was not seriously injured in the attack.
