EL PASO - El Paso Sheriff's deputies are looking for two men who led them on a high speed chase in east El Paso County.

According to deputies, Ruben Ramirez and Albert Alvarez refused to stop when deputies tried to pull them over during a traffic stop.

The pair led deputies on a high speed chase for several miles before the car finally came to a stop.  That's when deputies said the two men jumped out and ran into a dark desert area.

Deputies did not catch up with them, but did find several stolen items inside the car.

Ramirez and Alvarez are both wanted for evading arrest.

Ramirez is also wanted by the El Paso Police Department on a separate charge for burglary of habitation.

Alvarez is also wanted on an unrelated charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities think both men are hiding with friends or family in the area.

If you have any information on their whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 915-566-T-I-P-S (8477).
