Third shooting investigation in 3 days

The El Paso Police Department is investigating a third shooting in just as many days. The most recent happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the intersection of Sigma St. and Trojan St. in Northeast El Paso according to EPPD investigators.

Two people were injured, including a 16-year-old teen.

Police believe the shooting happened in the parking lot at the Arrowhead Place Apartments on Trojan Dr. and Sigma St., near Rushing Rd.

Officers were initially called to Providence Memorial Hospital when a 20-year-old man showed up there with multiple gunshot wounds. After speaking with the victim, officers went to the apartment complex.

Several hours later, police responded to a home on Edgar Rd. in the Upper Valley because a 16-year-old male reported that he was injured in the same shooting.  Police said he was hit by debris during the shooting and only suffered minor injuries.

The initial investigation revealed that the pair was shot during an illegal drug sale that was happening at Sigma and Trojan St. The injuries sustained by the 20-year-old have been described by police as non-life threatening and there have been no arrests in connection with the shooting.
