EL PASO - A man is recovering after he suffered burns to his hands and stomach for smoking while connected to an oxygen tank.

Someone called 911 after they saw the man's clothes on fire.

Paramedics rushed the 50-year-old victim to the hospital.

No word on his condition.

Firefighters advise never smoking where oxygen is being used because things like hair, clothing and even skin oils can catch fire.
