EL PASO - A man shot by police after allegedly pointing a gun at them is recovering at home.

Hector Piedra's family tells us he is still too shaken up to talk to us on camera.

Last month, Piedra was shot in the stomach and thigh after police arrived at his home on a domestic disturbance call. Police say Piedra had a gun but never fired any shots. Strangely, Piedra's families and attorneys told us the police wouldn't allow them access to Piedra after the shooting.

He is in bed at home, hoping to recover from those gunshot wounds.
