EPPD identify man injured in Northwest El Paso accident on Sunday night
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso Police continue their investigation of an accident that sent 49-year-old Jose Barrios to UMC with life-threatening head injuries Sunday night.
Police say that Barrios was driving a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer at 8:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Dakota Ridge and Cloud Ridge when he got out of the running SUV to check something.
While checking the SUV, it somehow rolled backwards, dragging Barrios. As it rolled, the Mountaineer hit two other parked cars, a 2008 Chevy Cobalt and a 2008 Kia Sorento.
Barrios' two passengers, 46-year-old Bertha Barrios and a 7-year-old girl were not hurt in the accident. Barrios was transported to UMC with life-threatening head injuries.
EPPD Special Traffic Investigators are continuing to investigate the incident.
