EL PASO — Police arrest a man for murder after police say a woman was hit by a car and killed at a house party in the Lower Valley.
According to police, 19-year-old Miguel Tinoco was leaving a house party on Rio Monte Street early Sunday morning when he veered into a group of people who were standing outside.
The victim was 23-year-old Miriam Aguirre. According to police, neighbors complained about the noise levels so everyone was asked to leave.
Tinoco reportedly became upset, got into his car and drove directly into the group killing Aguirre and injuring four others.
Tinoco fled the scene but was later arrested.
"We're continuing the investigation meeting with a lot of the people that were out there that saw everything that occurred," said police spokesperson Javier Sambrano.
The other four victims range in age from 16 to 23 years old. They were taken to University Medical Center where they are reported to be in stable condition.
Police are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
