SOCORRO – A man is undergoing surgery at Del Sol Medical Center after he was attacked in Socorro, according to a Socorro Police Department spokesperson.

Investigators say the man, who is Hispanic and in his 30's, was attacked on Trejo Street just before 10:00 p.m. Monday.

Investigators tell NewsChannel 9 that the man was found in a nearby field with life threatening injuries.

It is not known what the man was attacked with. So far there are no suspects.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
