Man arrested in Socorro for giving false names to deputies
Monday the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Strike Team did a traffic stop at the intersection of Horizon Blvd. and North Loop Dr., in Socorro, Texas.
At the time of the stop, deputies said the driver appeared nervous and displayed evasive behavior as he provided conflicting information about his identity. As deputies transported the driver to get fingerprints for positive ID, deputies said the man admitted to deputies he gave a fictitious name and then provided his real name, Alfredo Perez.
During a comparison of his fingerprints, deputies said it appeared the driver had another name and date of birth which returned with a criminal history out of the states of Nevada and California. Further investigation revealed the driver, “Alfredo Perez” was known for using multiple fraudulent identities including “Ismael Mendoza,” “Salvador Villa Garcia,” and “Carlos Nunez.”
Perez, 41, was arrested and charged with failure to identify. Additional charges are pending.
