Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Vehicle Stuffs Packet of Cocaine into Hood of Sheriff's Patrol Unit
FABENS— El Paso County Sheriff's arrested a man after deputies discovered the man was in possession of a stolen truck, and cocaine.
Juan Balderas Flores, 33, was arrested after EPCSO deputies patrolling the 100 block of N.W. G Street in Fabens noticed a white F-450 pick up truck was parked in front of a residence partially on the roadway. After running a plate check on the Arizonian licensed truck, deputies learned the vehicle had been reported stolen with the Sheriff's Office in El Paso.
Deputies made contact with Flores in the backyard of the home. Deputies said Flores had the keys to the truck and was the person in possession of the stolen vehicle. Flores was then arrested for theft.
Deputies later noticed a diamond fold paper between the hood and fender of the patrol unit, the spot where Flores was detained and questioned. Deputies took out the diamond fold and found that it had a white powdery substance which later tested positive for cocaine. EPCSO deputies reviewed the patrol unit's camera, and watched as moments earlier Flores reached into his right front pocket and stuffed the white diamond fold between the hood and fender. The video has since been sent in as evidence.
Additional charges were filed against Flores which included possession of cocaine and an active arrest warrant for a parole violation stemming from a previous “accident involving injury or death” charge.
