Police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly accident in Montana Vista over the weekend.

We first told you about the accident on Sunday. Two cars collided at the intersection of Buntline and Marvin Lane. One man didn't survive the impact.

Now, Fernando Varela, 22, is in custody; police are charging him with manslaughter.

Investigators said Varela was going westbound on Marvin, when he ran a stop sign, and collided into a Chevy Suburban.

The impact threw one of the passengers in the Suburban out of the car; that victim, Sergio Aguayo, 36, died at the scene.

All the other people involved in the accident were treated for minor injuries.

This sucks! This accident has claimed the lives of two people, the victim of course, but also Varela - whose life is never going to be the same. After Varela goes to trial and is handed his sentece, he should (in my opinion), be allowed with full supervision, prison uniform and even handcuffs to travel through schools across the city and maybe even the state and show kids the consecuenses of drinking and driving. It will never bring back the life of the person he took obviously but it might prevent other lives from being taken.
