Man allegedly pulls out a gun during “road rage” incident

At approximately 2:30pm. Monday afternoon, El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out to I-10 east near Vinton, because a man allegedly pulled out a gun.

Jimmy Orozco told deputies he was the victim of “road rage”. He said that he was driving on I-10 east near Vado, New Mexico where he passed James Knox, 56. Orozco said Knox became upset and began harassing him on the interstate. During the incident, Orozco told deputies Knox displayed a handgun and pointed it at him.

When deputies caught up with Knox they said they found a black handgun underneath the driver’s seat.
Knox was arrested for unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Deputies said they referred Orozco to the New Mexico State Police to file charges on Knox for allegedly pointing the gun at him.

The key word in this piece is "allegedly". Where are the complaints from other drivers-if in fact a gun was being displayed? El Paso County Law Enforcement needs to get their collective heads out of each others rear-ends and find a credible witness and say "prove it."

I don't understand the "unlawfully carrying a weapon". I thought you were allowed to have a firearm in your vehicle in Texas and New Mexico. I can understand him getting arrested for pointing it at the other driver.
