EL PASO - Congressman Silvestre Reyes will be in town today and he's expected to make a big announcement about local education.
Reyes and area superintendents will announce 30 million dollars in federal funding that are being awarded to El Paso area school districts.
It's El Paso's share of an 830 million dollar education job fund approved last year and it provides emergency funds to states to save or create education jobs.
EPISD could get up to 10 million dollars of that money.
Some of that money will also find it's way to other local school districts including Socorro, Ysleta and Canutillo who just last week cut 30 jobs from the payroll because of budget cuts.
