Family of ducks plucked from storm drain...
You have heard it a million times: you cannot turn your back on your babies, even for a second.
That's especially true if you're a mother duck.
Brenda Seiferman was out walking her dog when she heard the cries for help.
"There was a mother duck and a baby sitting on the edge of a storm drain, and then she started pacing back and forth, and I couldn't figure out why it was," said Seiferman.
Like any good mom, the pacing was out of worry; all but one of her kids had tumbled into the drain, perhaps predictable where your babies are only half as wide as the storm grate.
Seiferman had her cell phone with her, so she called Animal Care and Control.
When they got to the storm drain they found the mother duck frantic and seven little ducklings crying inside the drain.
With the help of Fire Rescue they were able to lift the heavy grate and pluck the ducklings out.
Finally a family in peril was safely reunited and off on their next adventure.
