Low levels of Vitamin D may contribute to the pain of knee osteoarthritis among African Americans.

Researchers at the University of Florida studied nearly 100 arthritis patients, half were white and half were black.

The majority of black patients had lower levels of Vitamin D, despite living in sunny Florida. They also reported lower pain thresholds.

Researchers said more studies are needed, and suggest talking to a doctor before starting Vitamin D supplements.
