Mayor Cook has a new office downtown, but very few people showed up for his open door meeting, on Wednesday.

According to Mayor Cook, the major problem was parking.

Usually about a dozen people attend his monthly meetings to discuss concerns, ideas or just to say hello but only 3 people showed up to talk with him.

"Each one of those people told me they had a problem finding parking when they got here had to walk 2-3 blocks from where they did find parking" said Mayor John Cook.

If people wanted to really talk to the Mayor they would call, e-mail or go see him during his open door meeting. The thing is that he is a Lame Duck Mayor that did not want anything to do with El Paso during the GREAT Freeze. He now wants the city to pay his legal fees for as he has said "doing the right thing" so what is the result of all of this = PEOPLE DON"T WANT TO GO TALK TO THE MAYOR. I would rather go to Chico's Taco's. If he wants he can meet us there.

1. DA! And that's why hardly anyone willingly goes downtown, the parking. Additionally, it is so depressing. At anyrate, it certainly doesn't bode well for all the glorious plans to revitalize downtown.
2. The mayor has been and is a lame duck. He needs to graciously move on off the stage.
