A goat found on East Mesa early this month in under the care of Animal Services in Mesilla Valley. The shelter said they hoped his owners would come to claim him.

“Sometimes this happens,” said shelter director Dr. Beth Vesco-Mock. “We’ve had turtles brought in, rabbits, and horses. The shelter is often the last place pet owners think to look when their livestock wanders off their property.”

The goat is said to be domesticated. Shelter officials do not know how old he might be.
