Monday, April 23, 2007 - The soldier has been identified as Sgt. William W. Bushnell. He died over the weekend in Baghdad. We're told by Army officials that Bushnell died of wounds he suffered when his vehicle was hit by a rocket propelled grenade. He was assigned to the 4-1 Cavalry Division based out of Fort Bliss.
The 24 year-old, from Jasper, Arkansas, joined the Army in October of 2002. Before his death, Bushnell had been awarded several medals, and will now be honored with the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
