Monday, April 2, 2007 - New Mexico State Police arrested 38-year-old Dominic Ebert Sunday morning and charged him with 2 counts of online child solicitation. It was the result of a sting operation using an undercover agent with the New Mexico Attorney General's Office posing as a 12 year-old girl. Officials say it happened while Ebert was teaching his 6th grade class at Sunland Park Elementary, a classroom full of 12 year-old girls.
An e-mail transcript obtained by NewsChannel 9 shows Ebert using the screen name "Dominicus" and the undercover agent using "Chrissy." Ebert asks "Chrissy" to perform several sexual acts. Officials say this was enough to charge Ebert even though the two never met. Ebert is facing up to three years in prison if found guilty and remains on administrative leave from Sunland Park Elementary.
