NC9 UPDATE: Flicka Has New Owners

By Elsa Valenzuela

Monday, February 26, 2007 - Flicka and two other horses were rescued from their home by the Animal Cruelty Heartline of El Paso. Now a court has awarded the non-profit organization permanent custody of the horses. At the time of the rescue, Flicka was too weak to stand or walk, and was severely malnourished and dehydrated from months of neglect. Now doctors say they have taken Flicka off antibiotics, and that she has regained her appetite and is putting on some weight.

Flicka continues to get better everyday and will go to her new home as soon as she is released from the clinic. Pretty Girl is in a foster home and is up for adoption now. The miniature horse is also up for adoption.

Anyone interested in adopting Pretty Girl or the miniature horse may call Jessie Miller at (915) 833-1737 or e-mail her at Miller@elp.rr.com. The adoption fee for a horse is $125.00.

Donations to help provide Flicka with the care she needs may be sent to:
