Thursday, October 19, 2006 - The two former agents, Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos, were sentenced just a while ago. The judge gave them the mandatory ten-year sentence and added additional time for the obstruction of justice charge. The families did not get the postponement they were hoping for, nor did the judge grant them a retrial. However, both men will be allowed to go home tonight with their families and will get to stay with them until January 17^th, giving them a chance to spend the holidays together. They will have to turn themselves in on January 17^th. Ignacio Ramos was sentenced to eleven years plus one day behind bars and Jose Compean was sentenced to twelve years in federal prison.
