Thursday, September 4, 2008- El Paso County Commissioners have voted to rescind the pay raise they gave themselves only a couple of weeks ago.
Thursday, Commissioners voted to give back the pay increase that would have taken their salaries from around $50,000 a year to nearly $85,000.
Instead, Commissioners have given themselves a 4% cost of living increase along with a 2 1/2% yearly step increase.
That is the same increase all county employees will be receiving.
