Manhunt Comes to End in West El Paso

By KTSM News 1

Friday, 18, 2008 - At around 9:30 on Thursday night, El Paso Police received a tip that Gabriel Vasquez and Vicente Rivas were staying at a home on the 1100 block of Mohegan. Officers made contact with residents in the home, and after an initial refusal, Vasquez and Rivas surrendered to police. The two men are now in custody, charged with obstruction and retaliation from an incident on Wednesday night at a Far East El Paso mobile home park, where some residents say the pair threatened them. That is also where sheriff's deputies were fired at on Wednesday night. Deputies say they suspect Vasquez and Rivas may have been involved in the shooting, but they are still investigating.
